Break-though series 4: Nothing is as it seems

David had many struggles. It seemed so unfair, but be comforted.

The short-cut of some cannot devalue the longer road to significance.

They may take the high road and you the low, but life never follows script.

Things are rarely as they seem.

God had already heard David’s songs and already knew he would be king.

Saul was merely a lesson to Israel in response to what they prayed for: a man among men. How often that finds favor - but God sees hearts.

You may be a Cinderella, left behind to fling stones and chat to sheep, but don’t despair. The right foot will yet fit the shoe.

Samuel anointed David as King, which instilled the impulse to push through many pains until the path to his throne finally opened up.

The contrary winds of Saul chiseled away what didn’t look like a king, but his 7 years rule in Hebron further equipped him for an enduring throne.

Promotion comes not from the east or west, but from God (Ps 75:6).
