It would be impossible for me to mimic the Dylan drawl and twang, but the man did ask, "How many roads must a man walk down before you can call him a man?" Sometimes I need to ask the same of God - I suspect men like Abraham, Jacob and David had the same need. David's gospel choir, "The sons of Korah", sang of similar themes as they searched the unsearchable mysteries of God, to find what Job found yet barely grasped. In a sense, the answers do blow in the wind - for as Jesus said, "the wind blows where it want to". So life happens and we live in its unpredictability. Yet, to assume that God does not order our lives is to render our struggles down here, meaningless. A greater wind blows in our lives, filling our sails and driving us to our destiny. The Spirit of God has always searched the hearts of men and has called us out of the clamour of life into the wild places of God. Those who have followed, have covered burning sands and empty places in search of meaning and a deep, enduring friendship with the Great God Himself.
