I felt it kick

In my own trials I have come across countless others who are also struggling. Today I met an old friend who is in a dark place, but as I prayed for him I felt something like what Elizabeth must have felt. It was a kind of kick within my "spiritual womb", telling me that I was a witness to the birth of something new and special.

Do we get a thrill when we see God doing wonderful things in others? I fear that in most cases we resent it. We are far too individualistic, one of the most offensive attributes of kingdom life. Man, God also has great things in store for you and me, but even then its never about the individual. Its all about God's advancing kingdom. When one of us advances, the kingdom advances and when one stumbles we all suffer, for if one part of a body is in pain does not the whole body bear the consequence - as Paul said in Ephesians?

Please appreciate that if you really want God to work mighty things in you, first stop elevating individuals to the pedestals of men, secondly rejoice in what God is doing in others by way of building His kingdom, and thirdly, expect Him to great things through you too.

I hate it when we put our own selfish agendas ahead of what God is doing. Goodness, this kingdom has a 6,000 year history and our heritage is drawn from the rich legacy left and deposited in our lives by the greatest souls ever to have walked this planet. How dare we ever assume that this is about us or that any one original thinker has made even a squeek of difference. This was all initiated by the only true potentate, Christ the King, the wellspring of life, the source of all revelation and higher thinking, the spirit of all prohecy, the crowning glory of God's workmanship, the lamb who prevailed to open the seals of the dispensations of history - the Great I am. I am just so greatful to be a part of it all, but I will diminish my enjoyment and fulfilment in the life and thought of this Kingdom if I ever again think that I matter more than the whole.

We are God's workmanship, created in Christ for good works. We are a Holy nation, a royal priesthood, citizens of heaven seeking a city made by God, sojourners in search of a kingdom that cannot be moved. There is no differentiation in this kingdom. We are neither clergy nor laity, rich or poor, noble or common, titled or nameless, male or female, bond or free, Jew or Gentile ... we are all the sons of God under one flag and subject to one throne - a throne that will endure for all eternity, for the kingdom of God shall never be moved.

There is one God, one faith, one Lord, one baptism ... which truly gives my heart a big kick.
